Ox Cart Replica

Our full-scale replica of an Ox Cart or Red River Cart presently is on a four-acre Heritage Site at the northwestern end of Arden and 'inside' the curve of the CP Rail line. The site is ‘high and open’ on the natural ridge topography, once the high shore of glacial Lake Agassiz. It is, in fact, the highest portion of the Manitoba escarpment. The site has dozens of species of native grasses and forbs; it is largely undisturbed natural Prairie. The westward view extends perhaps 30 km and takes in the southeastern slopes of the Riding Mountains.
